It was interesting growing up. I always had dreams.

My parents always told me “son you can do everything you put your mind to.” But when I told them about Network Marketing at the age of 18 they said “those things don’t work”.

My best friends to this day, told me as a kid in high school that I would always be skinny and never bench press 300lbs.

So if we love our parents and friends, why are they so negative when it comes to supporting our dreams?

My theory is that people are scared of being “left behind”. It’s not necessarily that they want you to fail or suffer, but it’s that they are terified that you will go out and achieve your dreams, while they will never manifest their own. They don’t want to feel like they “missed out”. And if you rise to your fullest potential, and you succeed in achieving your dreams…..a great majority of people in the world end up feeling “left out” or that they “missed out”….. or in other words…..they choose to feel worse by your success, rather than be inspired by it.

…and this is exactly why you should never give up on your dreams, and more importantly, don’t tell your friends about them…….at least not in the beginning.

I never gave up on mine, and in fact I create new dreams for myself every year. I’m always a “work in progress” and I’m always taking some form of action to better myself and my business, and therefore every single day I view myself as simply getting “closer to my dreams.”

It’s interesting now that I’ve achieved some of my dreams, and I maintain that “unwavering commitment” to the pursuit of my goals………that my friends and family end up asking me how they can do what I do.

Because you see, I just went out and did it.

I learned early on that telling everyone about your plans, instead of just going out there and “getting it done”, was always going to begin with the same old story where people would end up telling me that “I couldn’t do this” or “I couldn’t do that.”

But when I just started taking ACTION. And making visible progress.

Their stories all changed.
