haha, so I’m feeling a little bit tongue in cheeky today.

Last week I was hanging out with a good friend of mine named Navin (pronounced Nah-veen) and we were on one of our general rambles which seem to happen to us quite often. He’s extremely intelligent and the only friend of mine EVER to beat me at a game of chess. (I suspect he secretly practices on yahoo before we play……that $#$%^^!)

Anyhow I digress.

You know all of the “gurus” out there will tell you things like “the money is in your list” or make sure that you “build your list” or “how to monetize your list”, and while I’m not about to tell you that list building is bad……..I just want to wrap your brain around the concept that a good blog…..is also a LIST.

You see, if your content is good (and I hope that from time to time mine is), your readers either return every so often to read your musings, or they click on the RSS feed button and they are notified everytime you update. So a blog functions almost similar to an email autoresponder in the fact that it allows you to contact interested readers over, and over, and over again, and it establishes you as a consistent authority figure on the subject matter of what you are writing about.

So if the Internet by analogy is like a big sea, then each post you write is like casting another fish hook into the water. Each subject you write about sends keywords out to Google, and allows readers to find you in the search engines, and or notifies your current readers via your RSS feeds that you have “blogged again”.

Your offers, and links to your products and or companies are passive. They are there, time and time again for your readers to either click on……or not click on.

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve ended up on the phone with someone who has said to me something like, “You know Broker I’ve been reading your blog for a year now and really like what you have to say and I’m ready to get serious about building an income for myself from home, how do I join you?”

My blog…..just like your blog………can and does function like a live…..interactive……online List.

So get out there, and cast your hooks into the sea my friends. You never know when you will get a big “bite”. =)
