If you are doing things right, then you won’t be as dumb as you are today………by tomorrow.
ha ha you…a…. funny man Broker Jones……right?
But no….I’m serious. I was taking an english class in college at Arizona State University when suddenly our small framed teacher, who was a high intensity and high energy lady in her early 40’s, turned around and began drawing Dendrites and Neurons up on the white board.
“You see they tell you that your brain cells start dying when you’re 12 and from there you are never as smart or capable as you get older as you are when you were 12 as far as learning new things,” she stammered cleverly, all the while drawing these long flowery looking specimens upon the whiteboard. “but the reality is that our brains are capable of growing new nerve endings that literally connect with each other and increase the level of cognitive capabilities that you can perform.”
Our English instructor, completed her non-english instruction for the day and I was left with a sensation that “college was really cool”.
Not because I really care about finishing a degree or having a “diploma” to use as a conversation piece because honestly……none of that stuff matters in the online entrepreneur world. But as far as learning a well rounding education and getting great real world analogies from a host of professors who have undoubtedly been “exercising their own minds” and thus contributing a great deal of Dendrite and Nueron growth in our own minds…….it’s an absolutely phenomenal experience.
What you spend your time learning today may not be important to you because of the content which you may or may not ever use again in your life, but the simple fact that while you are “exercising” your mind, it is building new neurological connections in your brain that are literally designed to speed up the transmission of electrical impulses that take place when you are thinking.
Did you know that your brain uses more calories per hour than any other organ in your body? (Now that’s some heavy lifting going on up there!)
If your car is fine tuned, it’s safe to say that your driving experience is smoother and more efficient.
Well it’s not difference when using your brain to build your business. (And if you think about it…..all business building activities take “brainwork”) If you have more Neurons and Dendrites, you are basically just “smarter” than you were before you grew them.
So go out there, get smarter today, so that tomorrow….you won’t be quite as dumb as you are right now! =)
